Wedding updos were a must for elegant brides since so long ago. Elegance and updos go hand in hand, and this is not only in the case of wedding ceremonies. If we only think at our grandmothers: the hairstyle of their age was so much different form the modern style. A lady would have never cut her hair short. Actually many women never had a haircut in their life. Haircuts were exclusively for men.
Updos can be a great hairstyle for women who like to keep their hair long. Long hair is very beautiful and very romantic, but many times it is inconvenient. In hot summer days, a long hair on your shoulders is not exactly what you’d wish to have. So, instead of choosing a short type hairstyle, you just learn how to make an updo from your hair and you’re done: no more heat and discomfort. Any hair stylist could teach you how to comb your hair that way, and if you see it done once, then all you need is a bit of rehearsal until you manage to make it easily, be it for your wedding or for every day use.
Well, the best way would be to go to a hair stylist and let him do it for you. But if you insist to do it yourself, just make sure you have lots of patience and a few hair accessories to keep your smaller hairs in place. You know, not all hairs are equal, because hair is alive and it keeps on growing and falling, and regenerating. If you look at yourself in a mirror, you’ll notice that you have a nimbus of shorter hairs all over your head. In case of an up do hair style, these hairs would look ugly and they will spoil your elegance. You’ll need to fix them in place.
There are at least two types of updos: those based on splitting the hair in two equal parts, twist each part separately, them join them together and fix them in place with clips, and those based on twisting the whole hair towards one direction, then raise it to the top of your head and fix it in place, making sure you hide the heir tips towards the inside.
What do you think? Would you believe that wedding updos belong to gandmother’s age, or are they still in fashion?
